Brass Preparation:

With bulk rifle brass, minor cosmetic imperfections like slightly out-of-round case mouths or dents below the shoulder may be noticed. These imperfections occur during the final tumbling wash operation after the case mouth is annealed. Such dents are typically removed during the first firing and will not affect case life or performance. Additionally, the anneal stain may not be completely polished off, which can leave a pinkish color on the case neck.

For new rifle brass, it is recommended to:

• Straighten the case and case mouth
• Chamfer and deburr the case mouth inside and out
• To straighten the case mouth, partially insert the case into a sizer die and use the expander ball to straighten the brass.
• Lubricate the case neck inside the case mouth to prevent stretching.
